Steam Press Iron

!±8± Steam Press Iron

Today, I would like to discuss how to use a steam press iron as many people are unfamiliar with it. Many households have traditional irons. People who own a steam press would never return back to the old iron because it is so much more effective. Although I love this appliance, I burned myself once so I would like to share some tips on how to use steam press carefully.

It gets extremely hot when it is fully ready to use. Before you begin, you must fill the press with enough water for it to function. If you do not put water in it, you cannot use it. The water is used for boiling, and that will cause steam to come out. The steam is used to get rid of the wrinkles on your garment. The bottom of it gets very hot. One time, I was not paying attention while pressing my clothes, and my left arm touched the edge of the bottom of the steam press. The injury did not go away for weeks.

Each one comes with an instruction manual, and I highly recommend you read through it before using one especially if this is your first time experience. Do not daydream or focus on other activities because you might end up burning yourself with the iron. After you finish using it, you must unplug it, otherwise it could be a hazard. The water inside is still hot so you want it to cool down before you decide to drain it. The manual should tell you how to properly clean the iron.

The Proper Way to Iron Your Pants

!±8± The Proper Way to Iron Your Pants

Not everyone was taught how to iron their pants. In fact, I know that many of my friends have not a clue about where to start or what to do when their pants are wrinkled. So what do they do? Nothing! They where their pants as is and excuse me but that is tacky and just makes them look like what they are...sloppy and lazy.

There really is no wrong way to iron your pants but I'll try to explain it so you can follow along and make it easier and so it won't take you as much time to do. But after you read this, you will have no excuse as to why your pants are wrinkly anymore!

The first thing you need to do after you have your iron and iron board out and ready to go is to look to see what kind of material your pants are made out of so you know what setting to set your iron. It should say on your tags on your pants. Go ahead and preheat your iron accordingly.

After your iron is preheated and filled with water, test it on a small spot to make sure that it is not too hot. Now take the waste band side of your pants and slide them into the pointed part of the ironing board. Go ahead and iron the waste band and all the rest of the pants that are actually exposed on the ironing board.

Now put both pant legs together and put the entire pants on to the ironing board. Make sure to line up the creases that are already there.

Once the pants are on the board, take the top pant leg and fold it up towards the waste band. Now iron the bottom pant leg from the leg all the way to the crotch. Flip the pants over and repeat this process for the other leg.

Once you have ironed both of the inside seams of the pants, take them off the board carefully. Now you want to smooth out your pants and lay the pants back on the board, this time the outside of the pants exposed. Go ahead and iron the outside of the one leg, turn it over and press out the other half.

When you have completed the iron, and if you are not going to wear them right away, be sure to immediately hang them up to avoid them getting wrinkled again.
